The Trent Barton "Cotgrave" service from Nottingham or West Bridgford has a stop for the country park at Morkinshire Lane. Leave the bus to the left and take the next right turn into Mill Lane and follow signs to the park.
Alternatively, the Nottsbus ECOconnect 33 service has a stop at the corner of Harvest Drive and Yew Tree Road, which is only 2 minutes walk from the country park. This bus can be taken from Nottingham, West Bridgford or Gamston. In the opposite direction, the bus starts in Radcliffe-on-Trent and calls at Upper Saxondale, Cropwell Butler and Cropwell Bishop before reaching Cotgrave.
The park is an ideal destination for cyclists, being reachable by three different traffic-free routes, and having several miles of well-surfaced tracks to explore. For details please see our Cycling page.
Cotgrave Country Park is well-connected to popular walking routes, and can be included as part of a longer walk in the South Notts area. It can be reached from Gamston by following the Grantham Canal path, or from Radcliffe-on-Trent by following the disused colliery railway from Holme Lane.
Experienced walkers with a local OS map will also find smaller rights-of-way connecting to Tollerton, Edwalton, Bingham, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, Colston Bassett, Kinoulton and Keyworth (some of these require short sections on road or through a town/village).
Follow signs to Cotgrave from the A52, A606 or A46. A small car park is available on Hollygate Lane. The car park has a height barrier and is not suitable for horse boxes or cars with bikes on a roof-rack etc. There is no charge for the car park. If using SatNav, the post code is NG12 3HE.
